Our goal is to support children, young people, and their families, helping to keep them safe, well, strong, and connected. We do this by offering a range of services including social work support, counselling, Seasons for Growth Programmes®, youth mentoring services, social worker in schools (SWiS) programmes, and group therapeutic programmes, as well as information and advice.

Most of our services and programmes are free, though a koha is greatly appreciated.

Our Community

Tararua Community Services is located in Dannevirke and provides services across the Tararua District, from Norsewood in the north to Eketāhuna in the south. We feel privileged to be able to support children and whānau in the Tararua District, which is a practical, down-to-earth rural community where small-town values are celebrated.

We are actively involved in a number of local and regional projects and steering groups. Both management and staff work closely with other providers in the community.  This work includes jointly delivering programmes, sharing resources and professional development opportunities, maintaining open communication, and jointly case-managing clients.

We work across the Tararua District but have two offices, one in Dannevirke and one in Pahiatua. We love visitors – come into our centre and have a chat and check out the information about other services and what’s going on in our community. Our doors are open Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm, come in and say kia ora!

Anglican Care Waiapu is committed to the wellbeing of tamariki and rangatahi and safeguarding them from harm or abuse. We take this commitment very seriously. Our Child Protection Policy is in line with the Vulnerable Children’s Act 2014 and must be adhered to by all staff and volunteers.
